We receive funding to achieve our goals of promoting energy-efficient technologies and environmental conservation from our foundation sponsors.
The Energy Foundation was launched in 1991 by three leading foundations who decided it was time for philanthropy to help the world meet its energy challenges. In 1999, with support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation, the Energy Foundation established the China Sustainable Energy Program (now called Energy Foundation China), with an office and staff in Beijing. Currently, the Energy Foundation is a partnership of 16 philanthropic investors committed to building a new energy future.
Established in September 2000, the Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation seeks to advance environmental conservation, scientific research, and patient care—around the world and in the San Francisco Bay Area, Gordon and Betty Moore’s home for more than 70 years. The Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation is one of the largest funders of environmental conservation and non-biomedical science in the world.
The ClimateWorks Foundation supports public policies that prevent dangerous climate change and promote global prosperity. ClimateWorks partners with an international network of affiliated organizations—the ClimateWorks Network—to support smart policies in the geographic regions and economic sectors that have the greatest potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
The Climate and Land Use Alliance is a collaborative initiative of the ClimateWorks Foundation, David and Lucile Packard Foundation, Ford Foundation, and Gordon and Betty Moore Foundation. The Alliance seeks to catalyze the potential of forested and agricultural landscapes to mitigate climate change, benefit people, and protect the environment.
