Nominate a Greentech Leader

The GTLG Leadership Award is given each year to an individual that has provided exceptional leadership in promoting energy efficiency in consumer electronics.

Over 15% of residential energy consumption comes from the use of gadgets such as phones, computers, game consoles, and other devices. At the same time, there is a growing universe of progressive companies developing innovative products today that can reduce this energy footprint today without any constraint on innovation.

Sharing this information is what the GTLG Leadership Award is all about. If you know someone who fits this description, let us know!

In 2012, the GTLG awarded California Senator Alex Padilla the first annual “Energy Efficiency Champion Award” for his tireless work to promote energy efficiency incentives, research, and regulatory oversight in California. Senator Padilla is the Chair of the Senate Utilities, Commerce and Communications Committee, which oversees most energy efficiency and renewable energy issues for the State of California.

While serving in the California Senate, Senator Padilla has helped lead a number of victories including: supporting energy efficiency funding through the state’s Public Goods Charge; conducting extensive oversight hearings to improve the effectiveness of, and bring better coordination of, state energy efficiency programs; and supporting the continuation of a state research funding that promotes energy efficiency technologies, innovation and job growth.
